Our mission is to provide playful learning opportunities, which is paramount as our communities emerge from the pandemic. Play sparks joy. Play eases the effects of stress and anxiety. Kids learn, grow and expand their minds through play.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, we have been following guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission for our customers and their patrons.
The scientific consensus around the primary mode of COVID-19 is transmission is primarily person-to-person via respiratory droplets. Transmission by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it is much less likely than respiratory transmission. Given that surface transmission is a remote possibility, we recommend the following protocols:
- Modular exhibits to accommodate social distancing protocols
- Removal of costumes and other soft props
- Listing of recommended of sanitizers and/or disinfectants per surface type
- Components with a multitude of small pieces (i.e. sand, bricks, etc.) have been redesigned to accommodate the need for continual sanitizing.
Additionally, we will require a COVID Preparedness Plan from our customers ahead of shipping an exhibit.
As always, we appreciate working with you. We will continue to monitor guidance from the CDC and other public health officials, and will post updates as additional information becomes available. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out at travelingexhibits@mcm.org or 651-225-6053
